The "Armenia" ship that has travelled around the world, now in its last phase of journey, has docked in the port of Galle, Sri Lanka, 115 kms. away from the capital Colombo. The ship started its journey back in 2009 and has been travelling across the Armenian Diaspora.

On 18th July 2011, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and with the invitation of writer/publicist Zori Balayan, Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, Pastor of Armenians in India and Manager of Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy, Kolkata, India flew to Colombo, Sri Lanka to offer a thanksgiving prayer to the Almighty for guiding the ship "Armenia" safely into the oceans and for blessing its crew.

His Excellency Mr. Ara Hakobyan, Ambassador of Republic of Armenia to India was also participating in the special occasion.

After the thanksgiving service, Father Khoren in his speech glorified and gave thanks to the Almighty for "Armenia~Rs" safe and secure mission and for its successful wharfing at Sri Lanka. In addition, on behalf of the Armenian Church of India, the Pastor greeted and delivered a note of appreciation and goodwill to the crew of the ship, wishing the sail a safe journey to Alexandria, Egypt.
